As I’ve been out in the community talking to voters, many of you have shared with me how challenging it’s been to research all the candidates running for the Oak Ridge Board of Education. With so much at stake for our schools, I know how important it is to have clear information on where each candidate stands, which is why I wanted to share some highlights from the recent candidate forum hosted by current board chair Keys Fillauer.
During the forum, I had the opportunity to answer several important questions that directly impact the future of our schools. From defining what governance means to me, to sharing my perspective on school vouchers, to describing what makes Oak Ridge schools such a special place for families, I was able to speak to the values that guide my campaign.
I’ve included clips of my answers below, and at the bottom of this post, you’ll find the full video of the forum so you can hear from all the candidates and make your own comparisons. I’m confident that my experience, my values, and my commitment to listening to you, the voters, make me the right choice for the Oak Ridge Board of Education. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to continuing this conversation with you.
